ANALYSIS OF THE PEOPLES’ DEMOCRATIC PARTY’S POLITICAL ADVERTISEMENTS IN TERMS OF ETHNIC MARKETING STRATEGIES
Abstract :
An ethnic group or ethnicity is a category of people who identify with each other based on common ancestral, social, cultural or national experience. Unlike most other social groups, ethnicity is primarily an inherited status. Ethnical marketing is a kind of marketing strategy that targets some of these ethnical groups via refering their ethnical values, beliefs and even their languages. Ethnic marketing started to be appear in the political campaigns too as well as the consumption goods. In this study, the political advertisements of the PDP have been evaluated in the 7th June 2015 elections, in terms of the ethnic marketing strategies. Discourse analysis used as the methodology and the period of analysis time is as 6th May and 6th June 2015.
