Construction of the dam due to the Replaced Settlement Place Example: Fasting and Olive Villages (Artvin)
Abstract :
Many dam projects have been made in recent years in order to meet the increasing power need of our country and to increase irrigable land amount and it was launched to construct some of them. Depending on the dam construction, the replacement of the settlements remained under dam lake becomes in question. One of the places where this situation is commonly experienced has become Çoruh basin. In this study, the replacement process of Oruçlu and Zeytinlik villages remained within water collection basin of Deriner Dam has been discussed. Over the mentioned samples, the importance of the selection of new settlements in this process, socio-economic problems arising from the replacement and the solution recommendations to be brought to them have been discussed.With the aim of minimizing the negative effects of the replacement of settlements on demographic structure, economic activities and cultural features, considering the geographical conditions and complying with the planning principles to be made for each process will be convenient during this process.
