Title Of Article :
Substrate preference on juvenile red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii)
Abstract :
In this study, substrate preference was investigated on juvenile red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) in six different substrates (basalt, bare glass, small stones, calcite, fine sand, plastic mesh). A hexagonal glass aquarium divided into six sections each containing different substrates was used for substrate preference. Three months old ten juveniles (30±0.2 mm of total lenght) were individually placed into the aquarium and each of them was recorded for 24 h. Spending time in each section was registered. Sand and basalt were the most preferred substrates (P 0.05).
