The Effect of Work Alienation on Teachers’ Turnover Intention
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to examine the effect of work alienation on teachers’ turnover intention. The sample of the research made in correlation method consists of 400 teachers who work at public Anatolian High Schools in towns of Diyarbakir province in 2015-2016 academic year. The sample was determined with random sampling method. Data were collected through work alienation and turnover intention scales. When research findings are examined, it is seen that work alienation affects teachers’ turnover intention. Work alienation variable affects %49 of turnover intention. This finding shows that teachers’ turnover intention is significantly related with work alienation. Consequently, it can be said it is important that administrators produce administrative activities which will prevent teachers from alienating work to decrease their turnover intention level to minimum.
