Abstract
After the reduction of the primary energy resources, energy efficiency came into prominence. The main purpose of the six-stroke engines is to evaluate the waste heat and it is an appropriate consideration for present energy inclination. In this study, by referring to the features of a single-cylinder, spark-ignited, four-stroke engine, in attemp to determine the performance of this scale engine after the six-stroke engine conversion, ideal air-fuel cycle was analized and the parameters such as power, torque, mean pressure, thermal efficiency and fuel consumption were examined. Throughout the conversion of the six-stroke engine to four-stroke engine direct water injection, exhaust heat recovery is used. In the calculations, iso octane was used as the fuel. As a result, with this study, it is theorically indicated that a certain amount of the exhaust waste heat of the four-stroke engines can be used as a work and thus the fuel economy can be recruited.
