Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of project-based learning approach on theacademic aachıevement of fifth grade students in elemantary school scıence education. Inthis study, experimental design for the post test controlled group method was used todetermine academic achiviment differences beetwen gruops; in the classroom that aplicatedProject Based Learning, parents’ and students’ wievs werw obtained with interviewing.Search and control groups are, both, composed of 33 students who have similiar learningcapabilities and skills. In control group, teacher centered lecture method was appliedpractising the experiments. In experimental group, the learning environment based on procetbased learning was prepared. After aplications, the achievements test was given to the bothgroups and datas were analized. In addition, partners’ and students’ wiev were obtained byinterviews. As a resuls of this experimental process, no significant differences betweengroups were abserved by means of academic achievements.
