A Communicative Approach for Analysing Syntactical Errors in the Written Products of Turkish Learners of French as a Foreign Language
Abstract :
Contrastive linguistics/discourse examines similarities and dissimilarities between native language and target language. These examinations mainly focus on dissimilarities. Without doubt, each and every language has unique structure. For that reason, target language should be compared with native language, differences should be put forward and by this way difficulties that students may encounter should be determined beforehand. In the context of teaching French as a foreign language, grammar rules have an important place while acquiring reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. Students encounter different difficulties while learning French. French is a foreign language for Turkish people. As it is not possible to examine each difficulties relating to the matter, in this study we tried to examine the subject about order of the words in sentence intended for problems and difficulties related to acquisition of writing skill. Contrastive linguistics and error analysis which is a branch of Applied Linguistics forms theoretical base of this research. The aim of this research which will be based on application and concrete data for instance questionnaire, analysis of student exam papers is to propose concrete and applicable pedagogical solutions.
