    Relationships between Career Indecision Career Decision Making Self Efficacy and Locus of Control

  • Abstract
    The purposes of this study is to examine whether career decision making self efficacy and locus of control predict high school students’ career indecision or not, and to compare career indecision of high school student according to gender, school type, decision status and perceived social-economic status. The study group consisted of 282 (168 girls and 114 boys) students in high schools. The Students’ ages ranged from 14-18. Career Decision Scale, Career Decision Making Self-efficacy Scale, Locus of Control Scale and Personal Information Form are used to collect data. Multiple regression analysis, t test and ANOVA are used to analyze data. According to result of multiple regression analysis career decision making self efficacy and locus of control accounted for a significant proportion of the variance (32 %) of the career indecision scores of the students. The career decision making self efficacy is powerful predictor of the career indecision. It is found that there are significant differences in career indecision of the students according to gender, school type, decision status, and perceived social-economic status.
