The Effect of Creative Drama Practices on Pre-Service Teachers’ Social Skills
Abstract :
Present study was planned to investigate the effect of creative drama practices on social skills of pre-service teachers. The study was carried out as a part of the drama course which is in the curriculum of Social Sciences Teaching Department during the 2013-2014 academic year. The study group is comprised of 45 students at the 4th grade taking this course 19 of whom are female and 26 male participants selected on voluntary basis. Creative drama practices were implemented with the participants in 10 sessions. The results show that creative drama practices implemented with prospective teachers have a positive effect on their social skills at significant level. However, the effect was not found to vary significantly by gender.
