    The Effect of Branding Level of Firms in the Carpet Exportation Sector on Economic Performance

  • Abstract
    Although foreign markets have lots of threats and opportunities, it is seen that the companies wanted to mention by name enter into challenging competitive environment by chancing the threats in recent years. It is seen that the studies on branding, especially in carpet sector are insufficient in our country. In this study, the effects of branding on carpet sector export which has an important place Turkish economy are aimed to determine. For this purpose, the study was carried out on the carpet companies operating in Gaziantep province and that make export. A total of 50 companies included into the study. The data was obtained with questionnaire method. The analysis of the data obtained from the study was conducted with SPSS 16.0. As a result of the analyses it has been found that the exporting performance of the firms that make export under the name of a brand, the last 3 year exporting and sales performance of the firms that take Turquality support is higher.
