MYSTERIOUS “ÜÇYÜZBİN” OF TURGUT UYAR
Abstract :
Turgut Uyar’s poem’s references which is titled üçyüzbin, were examined to determine whether they have merit or not in terms of accusations of meaninglessness for Second New poetry in this empirical analysis study. Possible comments about what means the number on the title of the poem were produced by making some speculation. The most likely speculation among all, was supported with historical data and tried to make more persuasive. On the other hand – though the man who prepares this study, is an academician, he wrote a doctoral thesis about Turgut Uyar, and he is also writing a book- the study failed to reach an interpretation which is not within the boundaries of the extreme reviews. As a result, the study reached the conclusion that the accusations of nonsense poems written by the Second New poets, are claimed for no reason.
