Abstract
The article studies the poetics of the genre (the genre form) in a dramatic kind of literature. The subject of the scientific analysis are plays of a famous Kyrgyz playwright Mar Baidjiev Holiday in every home and Long-distance train, which are posited as dramas by the writer, but according to the author of the article, they are considered to be melodramas. Reading Baidjiev’s plays through the prism of melodrama significantly enriches their perception as a reader, researcher, and stage director.
