AN IMPORTANT EXAMPLE OF HUMOR JOURNALISM IN SECOND CONSTITUTIONAL ERA: THE CASE OF BOSBOĞAZ ile GÜLLABI

Second Constitutional Era is a period during which Turkish society experienced many important changes and innovations in various terms. Press is one of the most important organizations as it was renewed and gained speed during this period. Hence, there are many studies devoted to the press in this period. However, one of the first and most important humor newspaper, known as Boşboğaz ile Güllabi, is not thoroughly analyzed yet. This study aims to eliminate this lack, and followed a chronological order. The study involves press activities before the Second Constitutional Era as well as during the period itself. The study also dwells on an analysis of humor journalism in this period. Therefore, the study reveals the environment in which Boşboğaz ile Güllabi was born. The study offers information about the newspaper as well. The important columns of the newspaper were introduced. The publishing policy of the newspaper was analyzed in line with the issues which were emphasized. The study ends with information on caricatures published in Boşboğaz ile Güllabi.
