The Responses of Examination Passed Secondary School Student’s to their Place of Communal Residence

The purpose of this study was to determine examination passed secondary school student’s opinions about their communal residence while attending their courses. The research group comprised 90 students at the Antalya Korkuteli Fatma Mehmet Cadil Anatolian Teacher Training High School in the 2013-2014 academic year and the sample of six female students staying in the hostel were selected according to the convenient sampling method. This was a qualitative research and a single case design with embedded units. Research data was obtained through individual interviews with a semi-structured interview form. The results showed that the students were happy to stay in this residence. Staying at this communal residence contributed to their social development and strengthened their relationship with their teachers. And further, their teachers did not make them feel the lack of their parents. They were satisfied with the food but were not satisfied with the cleaning or the attitude of the administrator. Their greatest sense of dissatisfaction came from being forced to compete with other schools’ students.
