Abstract
Mycetoma or Madura foot is a chronic granulomatous soft-tissue infection caused by true fungi (eumycetoma) or by bacteria of the order Actinomycetales (actinomycetoma). It may be difficult to demonstrate these fastidious organisms either on biopsy or microbiological culture, thus exacerbating morbidity can occur due to delays in diagnosis and therapeutic intervention. US and MRI can strongly suggest the diagnosis of mycetoma when it demonstrates the dot-in-circle sign. We present the US and MRI findings of a patient with mycetoma of the foot that demonstrated this characteristic sign.
