Abstract
The Battle of Ankara is one of the major turning points in Turkish and World History. This war is an inevitable consequence of Traditional Thought of Sovereignty in Turks, such as Dandanakan (1040), Kosedag (1243), Otlukbeli (1473) and Caldzran (1514) battles. This significant battle had found an ample space in the foreign sources of that period besides the Ottoman and Timurid sources. The most important and reliable of these foreign sources is undoubtedly the works of the renowned Manluk historians who were the leading historiographers of the time. This particular study handles the Battle of Ankara in the light of the works by Arab historians and their records about the subject matter are evaluated in terms of Turkish history and culture.
