Using possibilities of Geographic information system in valuation of agricultural lands
Abstract :
Today, GIS is used in many areas. One of the most important using area is agriculture and it provides great advantages in this area. Generated problems in the valuation of agricultural real estates can be significantly solved by GIS. In this study, firstly general characteristics of GIS and application areas in agriculture were examined, and then using possibilities in valuation of real estates specially agricultural lands in Turkey were evaluated. To fully benefit from GIS, coordination among institutions should be provided firstly, academic studies and experienced persons should be increased.
