Abstract :
the study aimed to find out the effect of time on food preference of Nezara viridula (L.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) between pepper, tomato and bean plants. The effect of time on food preference of N. viridula was investigated separately for each of all biological stages according to the average numbers of individuals on stem, leaf or fruit organs of each plant, and anywhere in the cage at the 1^st, 4^th, 8^th, and 24^th hours. The experiments regarding N. viridula adults collected from Izmir province in autumn and spring were conducted in a controlled climate room conditions at 25±1ºC temperature, 45±5% relative humidity, and 16:8 h (L:D) photoperiod. According to results of the study, the time has no any impact on food preference of the pest, except the second-stage nymphs. However, there was no difference between food preferences of the second-stage nymphs at the 4^th and 24^th hours, although the difference between preferences at the 1^st and 24^th hours.
