Title Of Article :
Comparison with Multidimensional Scaling Analysis by Regions of Economics of Goat Farming in Turkey
Abstract :
Objective: In this study, the similarities and differences between the regions were determined based on live goat, live buck, and goat milk and meat prices in 12 statistical regions of Turkey by Classification of Statistical Regions of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAD). Material ve Methods: The price data used in the study covers the prices received by the farmers and these data were obtained from the statistics published by the TURKSTAT. Relations between the regions using the aforementioned price variables were examined by multidimensional scaling analysis method. Results: According to the results obtained in this study, it was seen that some regions in Turkey were significantly separated from other regions in terms of the prices in goat breeding. When an evaluation was made according to the positive loads in the MDS, the most important separating regions were Istanbul in the first dimension and West Marmara in the second dimension. According to the highest negative loadings, the most diverse regions in terms of the prices were Northeast Anatolia in the first dimension and Central Anatolia Region in the second dimension. Conclusion: In this study, it was revealed that there were significant differences between the statistical regions in Turkey in terms of the prices received by goat breeders. These price differences were determined as 237.18 TL per goat, 237.39 TL per buck, 7.13 TL per kg of goat meat, and 4.29 TL per liter of goat milk. In terms of reducing the price margin between regions and the economic sustainability of goat breeding, it is necessary to examine some regions deviating from the general tendency such as Istanbul, West Marmara, Northeast and Southeast Anatolia. In this context, there is a need for extensive researches as both supply and demand side in these regions.
