SOCIOLOGICAL STUDIES IN BULGARIA: FROM A PROJECT TO THE SOCIETY
Abstract :
As Turkey s neighbour and as having passed trough 45 years socialist rule the sociological works in Bulgaria are interesting to research. Before the World War II Bulgarian sociological works remained only personal achievements of philosophers, economists and other scientists. Bulgarian sociology became institutional in 1976, when the Sofia University Sociology Department was established. Since 1960 s end to the 1990 s in Bulgaria sociology has been seen as the intermediate of the project, building a developed socialist society. After 1990 Bulgarian sociology began to evaluate and in some ways compensate most of the work, done before the new period. Till present the sociological researches are concentrated on the social, economic, political problems as the every day life individual dilemmas which were the totalitarian-democratic system transition s consequences.
