Some Introductory Notes on Biography of Korlut Tuna
Abstract :
Korkut Tuna is in the third generation after the founder names of Turkish sociology, Ziya Gokalp and Sebahatin Bey. This generation consists the people born in 1930s and 1940s. Their youth witnessed a big change in Turkish society. At the same time some big breakups in political life occurred one after another. He lived the best and worst times of university during his academic career. He shares the common interests and tendencies with his generation. As saving the traditional accumulation, at the Istanbul University Department of Sociology, he open the way of analyzing the current social phenomenon with a historical approach.
