INTERSUBJECTIVITY, REFLEXIVITY, COMPLETABILITY IN THE MODERN ART
Abstract :
The connection of modern art and aesthetics and the concepts of intersubjectivity and reflexivity are examined in this study. The differences between modernity and tradition are examined primarily for this. Modernity means continuous transformation in social life. The most significant distinction line is this. These incessant transformations which are practiced in social life find their echoes in the art creations of individuals. Individual’s being free from social contexts’ determinations provides his/her art creation diversity. Besides modernity, as time and expert separate from each other, the dimension of individual’s social activities liberates from the contexts of being at one place. Accordingly, the modern subject obtains the possibilities to interact and communicate with the other experience areas which are outside of time and place. Intersubjectivity is the point of this interaction and communication. The subjects who express themselves as reflexive at the place of intersubjectivity reconstruct continuously social life, which is the guaranty of their originalities, autonomies, and liberty. They reconstruct continuously the rules of this social life, as well. This process which exists in all areas from law to economy in modernity conditions is observed in the Social Construction Process of aesthetic judgment. In this study, the expression of the subject by itself at intersubjectivity place as being reflexive and television bring about what kind of transformations at social construct process of aesthetic judgment is examined. It is also suggested in this study that modern works of art and the production processes of these works should be analyzed in the frame of the ‘compellability’ concept. Eventually, the connection of art creation processes and the liberty concept at modernity conditions is examined.
