  • Abstract
Nowadays, detail hydrogeological investigations should be made for all of the plains due to taken a usable water shortage in several regions. The aim of the study is determined usable water potential and water quality of the Küçük Sincanlı plain. Küçük Sincanlı plain which is located in 45 km away from the Afyonkarahisar and is between of Sandıklı and Büyük Sincanlı plain is depressional basin. Kestel formation aged Precambrian is the basis of the investigation area. The most important aquifer of the study area is Quaternary alluvium and Pliocene Hamamçay formations. The groundwater level change of these aquifers is between 1.09 and 4.85 m for May-2007 and April-2010 periods. Safely groundwater reserve of the Küçük Sincanlı plain is calculated as 8.87x10^6 m^3/year. The Küçük Sincanlı plain is recharged to Sandıklı plain via Karadirek creek which is important surface water of the area and groundwater flow. The demand of irrigation water is supplied with Serban and Taşoluk ponds which are located in the Karadirek creek. Groundwaters are Ca-Mg-HCO3 facies according to Piper diagram. Contents of chemical, physical, bacteriological and heavy metal of spring water which is used for drinking water are suitable to standards of WHO and TS 266 drinking water. But, contents of nitrate and ammonia of spring waters are represented to effect of anthropogenic factors.
