Abstract :
Rose Rust disease (Phragmidium mucronatum (Pers.) Schltdl.) causes significant economic losses to the production of rose cultivars, especially in Isparta. In this study, it was investigated to determine the prevalence of rose rust, disease severity and seasonal changes in Isparta (Deregümü, Gölcük, Gümüşgün, Gönen, Yakaören, Eğirdir, Güneykent) during 2011-2012. Rate of rose rust prevalence was found the lowest in Gölcük (%38.3), and the highest in Güneykent (76.5%) in 2011, whereas it was found the lowest in Yakaören (%8.7), and the highest in Güneykent (81.9%) in 2012. According to the results, disease symptom on rose petals was observed in low rate (≤5%) in the middle of April. While rust disease in the all plants within in May, in leaves, shoots, pedicels, and sepals, was determinated as intensive rates.
