Abstract
In this study, the electrical conductivity of shot peened some aluminium alloys was examined. The changing in electrical conductivity of as a mechanical surface treatment shot peened aluminium alloys. Shot peening was applied to widely used AA1050 and AA2024 aluminum alloys which have high corrosion resistance and low density. Before shot peeneing apropriate heat treatments were applied to the specimens. S230, S330 and S460 steel balls were selected as shot and used for shot peening process. Shot peening was applied as single-side and double side of prepared sheet shaped samples. Decreasing in electrical conductivity of shot peened AA2024 samples was determined.
