  • Abstract
Oral cavity and oropharynx are among frequent localizations of head and neck squamous cell cancers. Squamous cell cancers that orginate from the ventral or lateral aspect of tongue are the most common tumors of the oral cavity. Non-lymphatic distant metastasis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma is less common than the other malignancies. Distant metastasis often appears in the lung, bone and liver and indicates a poor prognosis. Skin metastasis of tongue cancers is very rare. A skin metastasis of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue appeared at the mid-suprasternal region approximately one year after partial glossectomy and type 3 modified radical neck dissection, and the case is presented in the light of the literature
