Abstract :
Objective: Our purpose was to discriminating benign and malignant sinonasal masses with apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated magnetic resonance (MR) images of 14 men and 5 women aged between 16 and 81 who had sinonasal masses between October 2011 and July 2014 at our radiology department. ADC values of the masses correlated with histopathological findings. Results: The mean ADC value of malignant lesions was (0.99±0.39) x 10^-3 mm^2/sec (n=8), mean ADC value of benign lesions was (1.65±0.55) x 10^-3 mm^2/sec (n=11). We have found statistically significant difference between ADC values of benign and malignant lesions. Conclusion: We found the mean ADC values of malignant lesions less than benign lesions and the difference was statistically significant. The mean value of ADC is useful for differentiating between benign and malignant sinonasal lesions and it can be used as a part of routine examination.
