Abstract
The aim of this study is to present the perspectives of post-neoliberal international organizations on women empowerment critically and to determine the available framework that ensures women s empowerment and emanci-pation under the case of World Bank. For this aim, this study is composed of three sections. In the first section, the foundation/development of the discourse of women development and then definition and the scope of the concept will be examined. In the second section, the role of the women in development under the historical perspective will be investigated. In the last section of the study, the weakness/disability of the empowerment conception of new development paradigm will be demonstrated.
