INVESTIGATION OF SOCIAL COMPETENCE AND BEHAVIOR CONDITIONS OF 60-72 MONTHS OF CHILDREN ACCORDING TO SOME VARABLES
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to examine the social competence and behavior of preschool children (60- 72 months) in terms of some variables. There search was conducted in the screening model. The study group consisted of 139 children attending independent nursery schools. The data of the study were obtained by using unda Personal Information Form and Social Competence and Behavior Assessment-30 Scale yet (social competence, anger-aggression, anxiety- introversionsub-dimension). In the analysis of the data obtained; As the result of Kolmogorov- Smirnoff (K-S) test did not meet the normality of data normality, Mann-Witney U test and Kruscal Wallis test were applied nonparametric tests. According to the findings obtained from the study, it was found that the gender, number of siblings, and parental education status had a significant difference in the social competence sub-scalemean scores; It was determined that the children did not have a statistically significant difference in their parents age, pre-school attendance eduration and social competence sub-scale mean scores. A significant difference wasf ound in the anger- aggression scores of the children according to their parents agevariable. However, it was found that there was no significant difference between the mean scores of anxiety-introversion and subscale scores. On the other hand, gender, number of siblings, parental education and the eduration of pre-school education did not create a statistically significant differentiation in anger- aggression and anxiety-introversion subscale scores.
