Abstract :
In this study, it was aimed to determine the biomass energy potentials of Afyonkarahisar region between the years 2006-2010. For this aim, leguminous seeds, industrial plants, soft commodities, feed plants, fatty grains and nodular plants were rested and calculations were done. Average biomass energy potentials were calculated as Mw. The districts those have the minimum biomass energy potentials are Başmakçı, Hocalar, Bayat, Sultandağı, Kızılören and Evciler districts while Sandıklı, Emirdağ and Bolvadin districts have maximum biomass energy potentials. When the biomass energy potential which could be obtained from the whole products in Afyonkarahisar provinve is evaluated it was determined that 57.185 Mw, 58.100Mw, 51.230 Mw, 49.161 Mw and 53.329 Mw energy could be obtained in year 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, in that order. Therefore, biomass energy potential of Afyonkarahisar province has a significant importance both for the city and the country.
