The Investigation of the Abrasive Wear Performance of Cermet Coatings Produced by Electric Arc Spraying Technique
Abstract :
FeCrCMn alloys coatings are widely used to components to resist abrasive wear when they exposure in severe abrasive environment. Electrical arc spraying is one of the thermal spray coating technique has low cost and easy application. In this study, FeCrCMn coating and steel wire coating (13 Cr) produced by electrical arc spraying with optimated parameters are investigated by optical microscopy, SEM. Microhardness measurement of coatings were carried out and analyzed by EDS and XRD for determine phases. Then they tested for abrasive wear according to ASTM G65-04 norm and compared abrasive wear performance of these coating.
