Title Of Article :
Investigation of Vehicle Brake Testing Standards Applied in The EU and The USA
Abstract :
Braking activity evaluation has always been a difficult subject to handle for automotive engineering. This is why disk/drum brake and brake lining duo used in braking activity constituted safe criteria in order to evaluate real braking performance. These criteria were developed for testing new and powerful braking performance need. In addition, they were also developed for such purposes as reducing test costs, cutting down development times, solving safety issues, increasing interest in after sales spare parts, testing various vehicle groups, reducing concerns of customers, and providing technological advancement. Braking performance is determined by conducting tests either by inertial dynamometer or on an actual vehicle under various speeds, loads, temperatures, and pressures.
