Title Of Article :
Characterization Of High Porosity White Fired Ceramic Clay
Abstract :
Kütahya province has an historical importance in terms of ceramics and traditional hand made ceramics (also known as çini) production. There is no adequate knowledge on how the earlier ceramics and çini (from now on they will be called the ceramics) were made in Kütahya city. Therefore, for the determination of firing behaviors of presently produced ceramic products which made by ceramic manufacturers of Kütahya used high porosity white fired structures characterization has been made. The structure’s, that sintered in the temperature of 1015˚C, whiteness measurement L* is above 89, water absorption is %27, 45, strength value is 282.42 kg/cm^2 were determined. Strength of product has been substantially increased in the increasing temperature of firing. But another physical property hasn’t changed overmuch. Firing temperature in 1015˚C determined sufficient due to steady of another properties excluding strength and costs expensive. Firing temperature in 1160˚C identified sufficed for higher strength product manufacture. Glaze – masse adaptation must be supplied because of the cristoballite formation in the structure which has fired in 1160°C temperature.
