Abstract :
Biosorption is a physicochemical process that occured naturally in biomass, passive concentration and bind the contaminants in its cellular structure. The biosorption of uranium from aqueous solution by Helianthus Annuus core shell was studied in a batch system as a function of initial pH, initial concentration of adsorbate and temperature by using “Box-Behnken Design” method. Firstly, for determining the adsorption time, effect of contact time was investigated and 2 hours shaking time was chosen as an optimum period. Consequently, optimum conditions were determined as initial concentration of 127.5 ppm, pH 4.5 and temperature of 20°C.
