Abstract :
In this study, gender, service time, graduation department, participation to in-service training and selfqualification opinions towards laboratory studies of the science lectures’ (science and technology, physics, chemistry, biology) teachers was investigated. The samples of the study cover all the science lectures’ teachers who work in the Kayseri province centre in the educational year of 2009 and 2010. The sample of research which was randomly selected from all the samples was done with totally 209 teachers. Questionnaire that reliability coefficient is 0.92 was applied to teacher’s. Analysis of the data was done using by the SPSS.16.0 (Statiscal Package for Social Sciences) program. Examining the features of the distribution, the data were analyzed by appropriate statistical techniques. It was found that self-qualification scores of science lectures’ teachers attitudes towards laboratory studies were 77.88, which is some higher than the indecisive level, 54. Also, it was examined whether differences of self-qualification scores of the teacher’ towards laboratory studies with respect to gender, service time, graduation department, participation to the in-service training was investigated. As a result, it was found that between the self-qualification scores of the teachers don’t varied according to gender and participation to in-service training, but varied with respect to service time, graduation department in the inter group of the teachers.
