Title Of Article :
Investigation of compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity properties of lightweight concrete containing rosso levanto marble in Elazig
Abstract :
In this study, the ultrasonic pulse velocity and compressive strength of lightweight concrete containing Rosso Levanto marble in Elazig were investigated experimentally. In addition to concrete mixture with only Portland cement, concrete mixture with 0%, 10%, 20% of Rosso Levanto marble replaced with cement by weight was prepared. Maximum grain diameter of pumice stone is 16 mm. The 150×150×150 mm cube specimens were prepared for compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity. The specimens were cured in standard curing conditions at 20±2 °C for periods of 7, 14, 28 and 90 days. The specimens were tested for compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity. The results showed that compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity of lightweight concrete containing 10% marble was obtained higher than that of control concrete after 28 day. Furthermore, lightweight concrete containing 20% marble was obtained lower than that of control concrete.
