Abstract :
Greece suffered significant strains in the Second World War. In Greece, which normally imports some of its food needs, food shortages have been seen during the occupation period. The heavy winter season and the aggravation of the agricultural activities led to the growth of the troubles. The term Great Hunger began in Greece in 1941. One of the first countries that helped Greece during this difficult period was Turkey. The Red Crescent and other charities sent food items and health supplies. The aid activities to Greece continued until the end of the war. Good relations between Turkey and Greece started in the 1930s with these aids and relations between the two countries during the Second World War were at the top of Turkey s humanitarian aid. The study included humanitarian aid activities to Greece from Turkey to prevent food shortages experienced in Greece during the Second World War.
