Abstract :
Pigweeds, Amaranthus spp. (Amaranthaceae) species economically important at worldwide. Especially, Amaranthus retroflexus L. is one of the ten weed species of greatest economic importance in Europe and Turkey. To control of the species belonging this genus which are causing important problems in several agricultural crops land is inevitable. In doing so, the negative effects of chemical control on human and environmental health should be considered. For this purpose, biological control which is one of the suitable and safe methods in control should not be ignored. With this review, the situation of biological control studies with Amaranthus species which are very important position as weed in our country which has a rich insect fauna and the importance of examining this issue was ephasized as soon as possible.
