Abstract
The aim of this paper was to genotype the AluI polymorphism of bovine growth hormone (bGH) gene on the 76 native resource EAR and 51 their crosses breeds reared from different farms over the East Anatolian region. Three genotypes (LL, LV and VV) of the bovine growth hormone gene digested with AluI enzyme were identified by Polymerase Chain Reaction – Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) in the experiment. For native EAR and Crosses the frequency data of L allele were 0.78 and 0.79 respectively. Distribution of the three genotypes were for native EAR and their Crosses 59% (LL), 37% (LV) and 4% (VV), and 63% (LL), 33% (LV) and 4% (VV) respectively. The studied populations were in CHW equilibrium considering the genotype distribution.
