Abstract :
The aim of this study was to determine regional effectiveness of breeding and support policy for dairy cattle in Turkey. We used method of Three Stage Least Square for this purpose. According to the results of the study, we determined that most important factors affecting regional bovine milk production in the all regions was the ratio of high-gene cattle breeds and their crosses in total number of cattle in Turkey. A positive correlation was found between the beef production and number of imported high-gene cattle, milk prices and The ratio of high-gene cattle breeds and their crosses in total number of cattle. We found positive relationships except for milk yield in the southern region, feed prices in the eastern region and milk incentive premium in the northern region of Turkey. Milk and feed prices and milk incentive premium were not significant statistically. The results indicate that the importance of implementing agricultural support policies in regional base is prevailing.
