Abstract
The effects of three tillage systems (conventional, minimum and no-tillage) on weed density in wheat farming were investigated. The study area was divided into two parts (herbicide treated and no herbicide) and the weed impact on wheat yield was determined. The soil tillage systems were not significantly affected the grain, grain+straw and straw yields. Herbicide application significantly increased with the yield in all tillage systems. The highest yield was obtained from no-till with herbicide application. The total number of weeds (plant/m2) did not significantly change with different tillage systems did without herbicide application. Poligonum aviculare L. was more intensive in conventional tillage system, Lactuca serriola L. was in minimum tillage system and Chenepodium album L. and Bifora radians Bieb. were in no-tillage system. The greatest weed coverage was observed in no-till, followed by minimum and conventional tillage systems.
