Abstract :
The energy consumption per capita which is one of the important parameter that determine the level of development of the countries is increasing day by day. Fossil fuels’ damage to the environment and their rapidly running out of has increased over the supply of renewable energy sources. Solar energy is one of the main renewable energy sources. In developing countries (China, India, etc.) for the purpose of both heating and cooking simple meals the solar energy is widely used. In this study a parabolic solar cooker was designed. A solar tracking system was placed on the solar cooker to increase the efficiency. Daily data was gained from and the efficiency of the solar tracking system was determined during the experiments. Results of the study showed that the solar tracking system made about 35% increase in efficiency of the solar cooker. The highest temperatures on control and solar tracking system were 138,91 and 205,62 respectively. On the other hand the parts used on the solar tracking system to be quite common and cheap is increases the availability of these systems nowadays.
