Abstract :
This study was made to analyze the effects of peer education on reproductive and sexual health knowledge level of the university youth by using pre-post test pre-experimental model. The sample was composed of 331 students. The knowledge level of them who were trained by peer educators were measured by using Sexual and Reproductive Health Knowledge Level Measurement Questionnairebetween February- June 2009.The study was determined that 61% of the students never had education about reproductive health. The common knowledge source of the students were found books-internet-friends and 37% of them want to take it from the health staff. 25% of them were using birth controlling methods. The students’ level of knowledge change was found that 18.1% unchanged and 81.3% increased. The chi-square analysis was made to compare the knowledge level of pre-post test and found no significant difference (x^2= 30,609, p 0.05). Peer education was found effective in improving knowledge
