Abstract :
Objective: This study was conducted to determine students’ sexual myths and compare these myths according to grades of students. Method: 397 female students were included in this descriptive study. A questionnaire form prepared by researchers was used to collect the data of the study. Questionnaire forms under cover were distributed to the students and they were asked to fill out the forms anywhere without writing their names when they were alone so that mutual interactions would be prevented and they were also requested to return the forms under the same cover within 1 week. Statistical analysis of the data was performed in computer environment using percentage calculations and chi-square test. Results: Students in the fourth grade were determined to have the greatest number of myths. Examining the distribution of sexual myths; 56.7% of first-grade students believe the myth As long as the couples love each other, they know how to find pleasure in making love.; 56.7% believe the myth Men desire the sexual intercourse all the time and they are always ready for this. and 54.3% believe the myth Sexuality is instinctive and it cannot be learned.. These myths were seen among second-third and fourth grade students at high rate, as well. Similarly, the same myths were found out to be at highest rate in terms of total rate. Comparing the sexual myths of the students according to their grades; while there is no statistically significant difference between the grades in terms of 21 myths, difference between the grades in terms of 29 myths is statistically significant. Conclusion: It was said that students had high rates of sexual myths.
