Mécanismes internes de gouvernance et pérennité des établissements de micro finance au Cameroun
Abstract :
The global economy is marked at the end of decade 1980 by deep structural and financial crisis that has affected Central Africa in general and Cameroon in particular. To remedy this situation, the financial sector was restructured by public authorities. This led to the closure of several banks. The objective of this article is to highlight the effects of internal governance mechanisms on the sustainability of Microfinance Institution (MFIs) in Cameroon. The methods of structural equations using the PLS method allow us to study a sample composed of 98 Cameroon MFIs between 2007 and 2015. We find that there is a positive relationship between the separation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors (CBD) – General Manager (GM) functions and the sustainability of MFIs while there is no significant relationship between employee share ownership and the sustainability of Cameroon s MFIs.
