TEACHER OPINIONS RELATED WITH SECONDARY SCHOOLMOBBING BEHAVIOR
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to describe the situations in which the teachers at the secondary schools areexposured to mobbing behaviour.The study was materialized with the data analyses carried out by 480teachers in total, who work in the secondary school institutions in Sivas and Adıyaman. In addition, as aqualitative dimension, interviews were held with the 15 teachers by using semi structured interview formsand as a result of which the content analyses were done on the acquired data. According to the findings ofthe research, at the results of quantitative dimension the teachers were seen to be exposured to mobbingbehaviour at a low level. However, the results of qualitative dimension, the teachers had expressed thatthey more often experience the treatment like “allusion“,“labor contempt“, as psychological level factorsand “teachers separating into groups“, “being interrupted“ as physical level factors. Relative reactionsare more often developed to psychological and physical level factors that are determined as “ ignoringand insensitivity“.It is thought that negative effects of mobbing behaviors decrease if school managersdetermine the most seen types of mobbing behaviors and organize following educational workshops andstudies.
