Abstract :
Ömer Seyfettin, Ziya Gökalp, Ali Cânip, who are artists and intellectuals of their period, come together in Salonica in 1911 and establish Turkism strands as a scientific and literary movement. Nationalism concept, which starts to be seen in a systematic manner after National Literature, has a widespread coverage especially in literary works by Ömer Seyfettin. Ömer Seyfettin, in his approximately 140 stories, tries to raise awareness in society via using language in a conscious manner. Many features such as; place and importance of language in a nation’s life, language’s own rules as a set of values connected human, consciousness of Turkishness and function of family structure to achieve the concerned consciousness are realized by Ömer Seyfettin. The authors states clearly that Turkish Dialects, which are mentioned as Modern Turkish Dialects are not a distinct language and decomposition causes loss of consciousness in nation’s life in his articles and stories about language. The question of how the concerned opinions are reflected in some of his stories will be answered based on the author’s articles on language; innovations in the stories will be examined via a functional method and examples
