Abstract
Kirghiz Turkish which belongs to Aral-Khazar branch of the Kipczak group is broadly divided into two major sub-dialects as North and South sub-dialects. The written language was based on the North sub-dialect. South sub-dialect, known as ‘İckilik’ sub-dialects, on the other hand, is seen to be divided into two as Southewestern and Southeastern sub-dialects. On the areas these sub-dialects are used, the spoken language has some different characteristics from the written language. One of these differences occurs in the use of the case suffixes. Generally, in the Kirghiz Turkish grammars cases suffixes are examined in following titles: nominative case, genitive case, accusative case, dative case, locative case, ablative case. It can be observed that the use of case suffixes in the sub-dialects differs from the that of the written language. In this study, information about the Kirghiz Turkish sub-dialects will be given and the case suffixes in sub-dialects that have different phonetic, morphologic and semantic features from the written language will be determined. The reason of these different uses will be adressed.
