  • Abstract
    Ilkkursun, a village inhabited by Circassians coming from Adige/Shapsugs tribe, is a village which The Circassians established in Küçükmenderes Baslin after the Caucasian exile in 1864. After Caucasia the Circassians were placed firstly into Rumelia and then into Fethiye, and they finally were inhabited the place near Ödemis where the village is today. The last Ottoman Census in the village was carried out in 1320 (1904 AD). There were 46 household population in total and 142 people were on record. The first front against Greek occupation was established here.
