  • Abstract
Osteoarthritis of the trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint of the thumb, also known as rhizarthrosis, is characterized by painful and a significant impact on quality of life. Intraarticular injection of hyaluronic acid is a minimally invasive procedure which could be effective in patients who do not respond well to initial treatment. Several studies have shown the effectiveness and good tolerance of intraarticular injections of hyaluronic acid in rhizarthrosis, but the evaluation of this effectiveness is limited by the heterogeneity of the results observed.
